Phelang Bonola Foundation's purpose is to identify and help girls in disadvantaged communities and ensure that they stay in school as long as possible by providing them with sanitary towels. The foundation will be handing out sanitary towels to girls in primary and high schools – a total of 2000 girls will benefit. Sponsored by Harcourts Midrand.

The President's Award for Youth Empowerment

The PTA creates opportunities for your offenders to develop, discover their purpose in life and determine their future in society. From 3 – 6 April, four young offenders competed in a 240km cycle tour. Harcourts Grahamstown participated in the tour.

The Kidney Beanz Trust

The purpose of the organization is to provide support for children with life-threatening disease as well as their families. The grant assisted with funding a physiotherapist that provide one-on-one support to individual children. They held a fundraising golf day and Harcourts Midrand sponsored a hole on the day.

South Coast Hopsice

South Coast Hospice's Annual Golf Day was held on June 16th, with a full field and massive exposure for the hospice and their foundation. They raised R56,060 on the day, with all funds to be used in their Kingfisher House Inpatient Unit, which supports their Home Based Care program. Their palliative-trained staff offer quality care to patients living with life-threatening illnesses in their own homes, where they are more comfortable surrounded by their family. When necessary the patient is brought into Kingfisher House Inpatient Unit, stabilised, the family educated on the care needed for the patient, and then the patient may go home to enjoy their family.

ACVV Poplarlaan

ACVV is a designated child protection organisation, rendering prevention and early intervention, statutory and reunification services to children based in townships. This grant was nominated by Harcourts Beachfront.

Huis Ebenhaeser

Huis Ebenhaeser have cared for abandoned and abused children since 1980. Harcourts Maritz will be taking part in a golf and in October to help raise funds for this charity.

Ithemba Lam Baby Sanctuary

Ithemba Lam Baby Sanctuary take care of abandoned babies, and currently have 90 babies in their care. This charity was nominated by Harcourts Beachfront.

United Cerebral Palsy

The UCPA has been taking care of children and adults with Cerebral Palsy since 1951. Many of the residents are orphans whilst some were abandoned and others referred to by the Department of Health and Welfare. . Nominated by Harcourts Full Circle.

Give a Child a Family

Give a Child a Family provides a place of safety for 60 children. Their purpose is not to keep children institutionalised for the long-term, but to reintegrate them back with their families or extended family. Nominated by Harcourts Property Perfect

Boikanyo the Dion Herson Foundation

Since 2012, Boikanyo has worked with shack and hostel dwelling children and their families to ensure they get a good education and a better future. Their current project is to continue an existing maths tutoring program to over 480 grade 8 & 9 pupils from a no-fee school on Saturday mornings at Mapetla High School. Nominated by Harcourts Delta.

Leva Foundation - Love Story

The Harcourts Foundation donated R10 000 to the Love Story charity, a hard-working team of volunteers and workers that rely on donations from the public to run soup kitchens in PE. They also provide care hampers for the destitute and make up hampers for mothers of new born babies at Dora Nginza Hospital. At the moment they have a big need to any food items and baby clothing.

Down Syndrome Association

The Down Syndrome Association is committed to improving the lives of all people with DS. Their annual athletic day was held on 1 September with approximately 500 athletes competing in field and track events. Harcourts Elite set up a stand with a colouring in station for the kids, with sweets, chips and cold drinks with some giveaways, and also set up gazeebos on the field for athletes.

Nga Tshilidzi Old Age Home

Nga Tshilidzi Old Age Home house 50 elderly people, many of them suffering dementia and other disorders. The grant was used to purchase various items i.e. leisure shoes, water bottles, hoola hoops, soccer balls, yoga mats etc. to motivate them to partake in regular exercise and teach them to design dementia-friendly gardens.

Jumping Kids Prosthetics

Jumping Kids Prosthetics' main objective is to identify children who have suffered the trauma of limb amputation and give them access to mobility, which translates to access to education and sporting opportunities. An event was held for abled and disabled athletes, hosted by Louis Trichardt High School. Funds were used towards the fitment of a prosthetic limb for one athlete.

CANSA's mission is to be the preferred non-profit leader that enables research to lower cancer risk, educating the public regarding symptoms and risk reduction. Harcourts Mandela Bay in association with CANSA organised a music trivia evening fundraiser on 7th September.

Harcourts Destiny organised a fundraising event for the Huis Immergroen old age home by way of a fun run.

Tygerberg Hospice Trust

The Tygerberg Hospice Trust aims to provide inpatient transitional care for patients to regain skills and abilities in daily living, with the ultimate discharge destination being home or an alternative supported living environment. Tygerberg Hospice Community care is an ongoing project, providing free health services to the community, and this grant will assist them in providing much needed services to the community.

The Character Company

The Character Company's mission is to raise boys who do not have the father figure in their lives to be good men. They are a nationwide NGO giving guidance, support and MENtorship to boys through various programmes focused on providing the boys with the opportunity to develop new skills and strengthen their understanding of who they are incorporating the five values: kindness, courage, respect, honest and self-discipline. The Character Company plans to grow their outstanding work in the Western Cape. The grant is earmarked for a new trailer for the regular camping excursions that the boys and mentors go on. New Jerusalem Children's Home

The New Jerusalem Children’s Home is a non-profit organisation providing residential care of 85 children between the ages of 0-18 years. Harcourts Midrand will team up with The New Jerusalem Children’s Home to raise funds to enable orphaned, abused, traumatised and HIV-positive children to receive a better education. Their goal is to continue being an educational campus offering Montessori education to the children in their care. The funds raised from this initiative will enable the purchase of material for an ongoing educational project, addressing the needs of children and youth in our country, with 330 children to benefit from the grant.
