To purchase 2 patrol towers to protect our lifeguards from the harsh weather elements while patrolling. They will also provide the ability for lifeguards to identify people in trouble in the sea.

Newlands Tamariki Playcentre

We have just completed a building renovations project, which took many years to achieve and much of the funds that we had. As a result the equipment and outside of our centre has become run down. We would like to enhance our space by revamping the play area to include a large tree fort, bike track, replace the play items such as bikes and sandpit toys.

The Adventure Based Learning (ABL) programme is the core programme which all children engage in when they come to Cholmondeley. The children participate in a variety of activities which include crossing the adventure stream, climbing the boulder wall, engaging in the high and low rope courses. Alongside these challenging outdoor activities the children also accomplish more education based activities in a classroom setting.

Towards "Kaiapoi is the Mill" - an artwork that depicts the Kaiapoi Mill. It is to be displayed in the museum in Kaiapoi and used as an educational tool. We need funding for materials for this.

Loburn School

Our Year 8 students participate in a specialist outdoor education programme, the William Pike Challenge. It is a year long programme in which all the students participate in 10 challenges including tramping, caving, kayaking as well as community service and learning a new skill/hobby. 2014 will be our 3rd year of the programme and we need funding for each student to receive a Williams Book and shirt.

The purchase of a fridge/freezer to suit the needs of our organisation. The current "bar fridge" is old and small with an unusable freezer. We need to ensure we have safety items available such as ice packs which we currently have no place to store.

Friends of Children in Hospital

Dunedin Hospital is building a new purpose neonatal and children's ward on the first floor of the hospital. We are wanting to raise money for extra equipment and family spaces that are needed for this unit. We need parents mattresses so they can have a bed, rather than a chair, to be with their child.
