The Harcourts Foundation, which has already raised more than $2.5 million for charity, is formally aligning with the Halberg Disability Sport Foundation.
It means 20% of all the money raised by the Harcourts Foundation will go to Halberg, a charity which works tirelessly to enable physically disabled New Zealanders to participate in sport.
Harcourts Foundation ambassador Emma Revell says the goal of the Harcourts Foundation is to improve people’s lives, which it does through a wide variety of community initiatives.
“We have aligned with the Halberg Disability Sport Foundation because it is a charity that we at Harcourts believe passionately in. Many of us experienced first-hand the amazing work of Halberg during their trans-Tasman event the ANZA Challenge last year, which we sponsored.
“To see how the lives of physically disabled children and their families are improved by the work of Halberg is humbling. We are proud to be aligning with them.”
The Harcourts Foundation presented Halberg with a cheque for $50,000 at the recent Harcourts Annual Conference held in Auckland, and during the three day event a further $12,000 was raised.
Emma Revell says it’s just the beginning of fundraising planned for Halberg.

The Harcourts Foundations was formed in 2008 as a way for the real estate group to be able to give back to its communities.
All the funds have been raised by dedicated Harcourts’ team members and clients through fundraising events, auctions, workplace giving, individual donations or “off the top” giving – a percentage calculated from each sales commission.
Harcourts CEO Hayden Duncan says the Harcourts’ core values of “People first” and “Doing the right thing” are drivers of the support the Harcourts Foundation receives from Harcourts’ staff throughout New Zealand.
“At Harcourts we aim to change lives and help make dreams come true. The work of the Harcourts Foundation is a continuation of this,” Hayden Duncan says.
In addition to supporting Halberg, the Harcourts Foundation will continue to support local charities within New Zealand communities.
